SNOP STAMPING S.A culminates in 2020 the deployment of its R&D in profiling and welding.
SNOP STAMPING, a French multinational corporation, has completed in 2020 the deployment of the results of its cutting-edge profiling and welding project developed in the 2017-2018 period with the support of ICEX and more specifically through its INVEST IN SPAIN 2017 line.
The project, which took 15 months, has comprehensively solved a complex technical problem around the profiling process that, after passing to the final phase of full-scale tests, already allows continuous production and improves the performance of the process. After the research and testing stage around the prototype with the invaluable support of ICEX, during the second half of 2018 and 2019 the progressive deployment of the knowledge acquired to the plant was completed to culminate in 2020 the final deployment in operational conditions after the full-scale testing phase. This new line is expected to have a highly positive impact on production figures and a significant associated economic return.
During all the stages Snop has been able to rely on the GTE group of the University of Vigo, which has continuously provided tools to characterize the solution and has been integrated into the team as one more element of added value.
In short, Snop is highly satisfied with the result obtained from its collaboration with ICEX, which has allowed it to attract significant investment from the French parent company to one of its headquarters in Spain. This has been a fundamental step in consolidating the strength of the group in Spain, the competitiveness of the company and the consolidation of links with the parent company. And all this based on applied and effective cutting-edge technology that supposes a commitment to R + D + i as a tool to promote the way out of the crisis. The project has been carried out with the collaboration of ICEX and the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain.
