Facendo 4.0 Industrial Competitiveness and Electromobility through Innovation and Digital Transformation - IN854A 2020/01

Facendo 4.0 (Industrial Competitiveness and Electromobility through Innovation and Digital Transformation) is the project launched by Stellantis Vigo, with the participation of CTAG, Gradiant, Aimen and the University of Vigo, which aims to develop new technological solutions in the automotive sector. This project is part of the fourth call for grants of the Fábrica Intelixente Programme of the Xunta de Galicia, with the aim of contributing to increase competitiveness and strengthen the business fabric of the Galician Automotive Sector.
The project aims to advance research into new technological solutions for the factory of the future, the vehicle of the future and connectivity, and in which the development of new, more eco-efficient and sustainable means and infrastructures will be carried out, whose development will result in a reduced consumption of natural resources and the use of renewable energies.
To achieve this, this project will carry out a series of actions on production processes to make them more flexible and with a minimum carbon footprint. In addition, technologies associated with connectivity (intelligent interfaces under the premise of the "Internet of Things" and cloud computing) will be applied to improve the performance of future vehicle ranges in terms of information availability, safety and automation.
The partners of Facendo 4.0 will invest 22.3 million euros, with a public aid of 12.2 million euros from the Second Vice-Presidency and Regional Ministry of Economy, Enterprise and Innovation of the Xunta de Galicia, through the Galician Innovation Agency (Gain), and co-financed by the European Union's Feder funds.
The project has a duration of 31 months - it began last January and is scheduled to end in April 2023.
